Funeral services for Fred Edward Emley, 78, Moores Hill, were held at noon Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at Dillsboro Church of Christ with burial in South Sparta Cemetery.
Mr. Emley died Saturday, Jan. 31, at his home. He was a Cincinnati firefighter attaining the rank of Lieutenant before retiring in 1983. Fred and his wife Dolores were the founders and Publishers Emeritus of Over 50 Magazine, until selling it to Register Publications. He was a member of the American Legion Post 292 in Dilsboro, Southeastern Indiana Shrine - Murat Temple, a Kentucky Colonel, past president of Southeastern Indiana Shrine Club and served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores; a son, Edward Emley, Cleves; two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.
