October 30th, 1942 - June 13th, 2016
Kenneth Jay DeVries, age 73, of Dillsboro went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 13, 2016, at Harbor Hospice House in Muskegon, Michigan. Ken was born on October 30, 1942, to Gerrit Anton and Anita (VanderVeen) DeVries in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After college, he married Virginia Van Sluyters on June 23, 1965. He served his country in the US Army from 1966 to 1968. Ken enjoyed being a father and grandfather. For over 40 years he served families managing funeral homes in Michigan. His deep desire was always to own his own funeral home. In October 2005 his dream came true when he and his wife purchased the Ulrich-Filter Funeral Home in Dillsboro, Indiana, and he enjoyed serving the Dillsboro and surrounding communities for the last 10 ˝ years. He enjoyed visiting with friends and was never a stranger. Ken was a member of Dillsboro United Methodist Church, IFDA member, and Dillsboro American Legion member. Ken is proceeded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Virginia, three children, Ken, Jr., (Wendy) DeVries; Deborah (Dustan) Wellman; and Jason DeVries; four grandchildren, Remington, Madeline, and Trey Wellman, and Rachel DeVries; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Ken will be on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Dillsboro United Methodist Church with Pastor Mona Safley officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Sharon Presbyterian Cemetery in Farmington, Iowa, on Monday, June 20, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. Friends may meet the family at Dillsboro United Methodist Church on Friday, June 17, 2016, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Dillsboro United Methodist Church or Dillsboro Emergency Unit.
Frederick Irvin “Fred” Cuneo
July 1st, 1942 - May 12th, 2016
Mr. Frederick Irvin "Fred" Cuneo, age 73, of Madison formerly of Moores Hill, Indiana entered this life on July 1, 1942 in Addyston, Ohio. He was the son of Harry, Sr. and Lucille Seay Cuneo. He lived in Moores Hill most of his life and attended school there. He served in the United States Army from 1963-1965. He was united in marriage on August 5, 1965 to Donna Homola and they would raise four daughters, Rena, Kim, Trudy, JoAnna and two sons, Christopher and Jody. He was employed as a construction worker, bartender and the last 21 years of his employment was with Joseph E. Seagram and Sons Distillers in Lawrenceburg. He was a member of the Hope Baptist Church at Dillsboro and the American Legion Post in Dillsboro. Fred enjoyed fishing, hunting and anything that had to do with nature. Fred died on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at 9:38 a.m. at the Water's of Clifty Falls in Madison, Indiana.

Fred will be missed by his loving daughters, JoAnna Baird of Madison, Indiana, Rena Hamilton and her husband, Rodney of Dillsboro, Indiana, Kimberly Cuneo and her companion, Robbie Flint of Madison, Indiana, Trudy Cuneo of Moores Hill, Indiana; his loving son, Jody Cuneo of Dillsboro, Indiana; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sisters, Faye Raisor of Milan, Indiana, Joann Broadus of Madison, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Cuneo, Sr., his mother, Lucille Seay Cuneo, his brothers, Harry Cuneo, Jr. and Fred Cuneo, his sisters, Norma Carrier, Doris Staulback, and Mary Frances Sturgeon Moore, his son, Christopher Cuneo, died January 24, 2015.
Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, June 9, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. by Pastor Tom Holt at the Hope Baptist Church, 15593 U.S. Hwy 50 in Dillsboro, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Cards are available at the funeral home.
