Jerome Curtis Oliver, 74, of Dillsboro, Indiana, passed away Monday June 15, 2020 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was born May 11, 1946 in Long Beach, CA, son of the late Maurice H. Oliver and Mildred (Plummer) Oliver.
Jerome worked as a truck driver for MK Trucking, with over 40 years of service.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion.
Jerome loved cars, especially Hot Rods. He built custom hot rods, even doing the upholstery in them. Jerome owned several corvettes.
Jerome is survived by his children, Jerry Oliver, of San Antonio, TX, and Anita Coffey of Aurora, Indiana ; 6, grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received Monday, June 22, 2020, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.
Memorial services will be held at 5:00 pm with Pastor Tommy Beatley.

Darrell Gene Hyatt, 86, of Dillsboro passed away peacefully Saturday, July 4, 2020, after a long battle with dementia, at the Heritage House of Greensburg. Darrell was born Thursday, May 17, 1934 in Friendship, Indiana, the son of the late James and Thelma (Linkmeyer) Hyatt. He married Roselyn Kirtley and she preceded him in death. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Farmers Retreat. Darrell was a 1952 graduate of Cross Plains High School where he played basketball; he served his country in the Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran; an honorary lifetime member of Northcutt-Laaker American Legion Post #292; and retired from Seagram’s Distillery after 45 years. He enjoyed big band music; pitching horseshoes; jitterbug dancing; bowling; gardening, at which he loved to raise tomatoes to give away; and a muzzleloader member. He especially loved his family and he helped many people.
Darrell is survived by his daughter Melinda Sowards of Friendship; brother James (Patsy) Hyatt JR. of Cross Plains; grandson Raymond Sowards; nephew Rodney Hyatt and niece Rhonda Hyatt. He was preceded in death by his wife Roselyn, parents James and Thelma Hyatt, son Michael Hyatt, and granddaughteCrystal Sowards.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember him 5 - 7 PM Wednesday, July 8 at Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home in Dillsboro. A service celebrating his life will be held 11 AM Thursday, July 9, 2020 with visitation from 10 AM until time of service at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Farmers Retreat with Rev. Richard Kolaskey officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery with full military rites provided by the Northcutt-Laaker American Legion Post #292. Memorials may be given in honor of Darrell to the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery or Church. Paul Vernon Moore, 74, of Dillsboro passed away Monday, March 23, 2020 at his residence with family by his side. Paul was born Saturday, March 2, 1946 in Milan, Indiana, the son of the late Roy and Laura (Beatty) Moore. He married Kathryn “Kathy” Brown and she survives. Paul worked in the warehouse for Seagrams; he was a driver for the linen companies; and a member of the First Baptist Church of Dillsboro. He served his country in the U.S. Airforce during the Vietnam Era; was a member of the Dillsboro American Legion Post #292; and served on the Dillsboro Fire Department, retiring after 43 years of service. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, bowling, riding his scooter and gator; and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Paul is survived by his wife Kathy of Dillsboro; daughters Janie (Luther) Winborn of Dillsboro and Robin Moore of North Vernon; brothers: Marvin (Carroll) Moore of Vevay, Lester (Tonya) Moore of Madison, Larry (Lisa) Moore of Versailles, and David (Judy) Moore of Cynthiana, Kentucky; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Richard “Rick” Roy Moore and grandson Cameron Brown.
To adhere to the Governor’s mandate a private visitation will be held for Paul Moore’s family. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery with a graveside service held at 11 AM Thursday, March 26, 2020 with Pastor Steven O’Brien officiating, and full military rites provided by the Dillsboro American Legion Post #292. Alta Laker Boyce, 97, of Milan passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. Alta was born Tuesday, November 14, 1922 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, the daughter of Thomas and Anna Stahl. She married Elmo Boyce and he preceded her in death. Alta was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Dillsboro. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary; and enjoyed reading, singing, and puzzles.
Her family included: step-son Mike Boyce of Aurora; step-daughter Brenda Boyce Morris of Moores Hill; step-daughter-in-law Bonnie Boyce of Sunman; five brothers; and two sisters. Family members who preceded her in death include her husband Elmo; parents Thomas and Anna Stahl; and step-son Alan Boyce.
In order to help protect the health and well-being of family and friends during this health crisis, Alta’s family has opted for a private burial service at this time.
