Charlie Lang

Funeral services for Charles L. "Charlie" Lang, 82, Dillsboro, was held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug.1, 2008, at Filter-DeVries Funeral Home, Dillsboro, with burial in Oakdale Cemetery, Dillsboro. Visitation was 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at the funeral home. Mr. Lang died Tuesday, July 29, at the Waters of Dillsboro Ross Manor. He worked at Schenley Distillery and was a member of Northcutt-Laker American Legion Post No. 292, Aurora VFW Post 5312, Aurora Moose Lodge. Charles served in the U.S. Army during WW11 where he spent 30 days as a POW having been captured at the Battle of the Bulge. He is survived by a son, Gene Lang, Aurora; a daughter, Connie Lang, Dillsboro; two granddaughters, April and Amy Lang, and a brother, Alfred Lang, Greenwood.
